Victim Advocacy

MHSI also operates two programs to assist victims of abuse. The Battered Women’s Program and Sexual Assault Intervention Project provide bilingual victim advocacy services to women, children, and men who have been affected by domestic abuse.

Advocacy services involve shelter assistance, transportation assistance, access to counseling, support services, and referrals to community organizations. MHSI advocates coordinate with legal systems in order to obtain Orders for Protection and assist with court advocacy.
